The Greek word rendered as "just" refers to that which is straight, right. Of course, Paul is referring to what is right in God's eyes. Today, we live in a society that has created its own thoughts about what is right and wrong, so their consciences have been figuratively seared with a branding iron. When one comes to Christ, one has to have their conscience retrained so as to know what is right and wrong in God's eyes. This can only be done by diligent prayer and study of God's Word to determine what is just in God's eyes. By such we would then set our minds on things that are truly just. In doing so, we should at the same time reject thoughts that are not right in God eyes.
