Freely ye have received, freely give. -- Matthew 10:8
LET us be on the alert to give to all who are hungering and thirsting the blessed food which has so greatly refreshed and strengthened us. If they do not get it they will faint by the way as they go looking for other provisions. We have the very thing which all of the household of faith need; without it they cannot maintain their standing, they cannot press on, they shall surely become discouraged.... Whatever we may have of financial means for sending forth the bread of life to others, or whatever we may have of knowledge of the Truth, is neither to be selfishly hoarded nor selfishly partaken of by ourselves. It is to be consecrated to Jehovah, and out of that consecration Jehovah will bring blessing to others and increased blessings upon our own heads and hearts. -- Excepts from "Give Ye Them To Eat." Z. '04-78 R3333:6-3334:1; edited to present the Holy Name as "Jehovah."
My comments:
The Word of Truth is given freely to us; likewise, we should freely share the gospel (good news) we have learned from the Bible with others as we are able. Ecclesias can arrange for volunteers in the locality to distribute tracts house-to-house, on the streets, or otherwise. All of us can take some tracts with us everytime we leave our home to distribute as we meet others. But probably the most blessings come from orally giving a testimony concerning the Good News to others. All such, however, should be with the goal of glorifying the Heavenly Father and His Son, our Lord Jesus. -- Ronald R. Day, Sr.
