Offer Willingly
I have willingly offered all these things: and now have I seen with joy your people, that are present here, offer willingly to you. -- 1 Chronicles 29:17, World English.
The above words of David to God express his joy in seeing how the people of Israel willingly presented their offerings to Jehovah, their God. David saw the people by their actions, not by their words, which can be vain. He saw their actions as being what was in their heart. David had set the example of willingly offering to Jehovah. The willing offerings of the people suggested to David that in their hearts they had the desire to honor their God, Jehovah, and for this David was thankful to Jehovah.
Our Lord Jesus also willingly offered to his God, not material things to build a physical temple, but himself to build a spiritual temple. Likewise, all who would become part of this spiritual temple will also offer themselves willingly to God.
